About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential identity and access management organization in their search for a Senior Solutions Engineer to join their UK&I team. This is a client-facing technical role where you'll partner closely with sales teams to guide prospects through complex security solutions from discovery through technical win.

Our client operates at the intersection of cloud security, developer platforms, and enterprise identity management. You'll be working with cutting-edge authentication and authorization technology, educating everyone from developers to C-level executives on best practices for securing modern applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive technical discovery to understand customer requirements in the context of their business outcomes
• Partner with sales teams to progress opportunities and manage technical sales cycles from discovery to technical win
• Build and deliver sales presentations, product demonstrations, and custom proof-of-concepts
• Educate diverse audiences (developers, product managers, executives) on cloud security and identity solutions
• Take a hands-on approach to solution validation, including building custom demonstrations and supporting customer-led evaluations
• Ask detailed, clarifying questions to quickly discern true technical needs and present targeted solutions
• Maintain broad and deep technical understanding of the platform and underlying identity protocols
• Participate proactively in local and regional sales and marketing events

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in a pre-sales role as a Sales Engineer or Solutions Engineer
• Ability to articulate complex technical topics quickly and clearly, including whiteboard discussions
• Experience in customer-facing roles such as consulting, support, teaching, or pre-sales
• Experience with at least one standard identity protocol (OIDC, OAuth2, SAML, LDAP)
• Strong development background with proficiency in at least one backend stack (Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby) and a popular frontend framework (React, Angular, Vue)
• Experience working with REST APIs and SDKs
• Understanding of core application security concerns (password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, XSRF)
• Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate business value
• Natural relationship builder with strong listening and time management skills
• Comfortable with travel to meet customers

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience with Identity & Access Management, Single Sign-on, and API-based solutions
• Understanding of AI security and the role identity plays in continuous oversight
• Mobile development experience (iOS, Android)
• Strong HTTP, HTML, and REST services knowledge, including browser dev tools and HTTP clients

The role is based in London with an expectation of 2-3 days per week meeting customers or collaborating in the Farringdon office.
