Director Public Sales (d/w/m)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential GovTech organization seeking a Director of Public Sales to lead their public sector business in Berlin. In this role, you will:

• Lead the public sector sales team with full disciplinary and technical responsibility, working closely with senior sales leadership to refine segment strategy and drive revenue growth and market positioning
• Develop and scale the team responsible for expanding the SaaS portfolio within the public sector, deriving goals from segment strategy and ensuring execution
• Provide expert guidance to your team during complex public procurement processes and negotiations, accompanying key opportunities from initial contact through contract closure
• Support partner management activities with resellers, distributors, system integrators, and maintain relationships at decision-maker level
• Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure seamless implementation and sustained customer satisfaction
• Work with product management and marketing to develop positioning and market entry strategies for the public sector
• Deliver regular forecasts, market analyses, and strategic recommendations to the VP Sales

What We're Looking For

• Minimum five years of experience in business development, sales, or key account management with leadership responsibility, ideally in SaaS or technology environments
• Substantial experience selling to public sector clients, with deep understanding of public procurement processes, regulatory frameworks, and decision-making structures within government agencies
• Proven track record building and leading sales teams, with strong ability to develop people and align them toward common goals
• Deep understanding of SaaS business models, cloud technologies, and digital transformation processes, plus experience with agile methods and modern collaboration models
• Degree in business, STEM, or comparable qualification
• German and English proficiency at C1 level or higher
