Data Analyst:in Fundraising (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential nonprofit organization based in Berlin that is seeking a Data Analyst for their Fundraising department. This is a full-time permanent position (35 hours per week) with significant remote work flexibility. Our client works to create measurable impact in their mission area through strategic engagement with stakeholders across business, policy, and community sectors.

As Data Analyst for Fundraising, you will join a six-person Fundraising & Engagement team responsible for connecting supporters with the organization's mission and ensuring sustainable funding for their initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable performance monitoring systems for fundraising and engagement activities
• Segment and prepare data for fundraising and engagement campaigns
• Build, maintain, and document SQL queries and recurring analysis workflows
• Evaluate fundraising, engagement, and mobilization activities against agreed KPIs
• Create monthly reports and dashboards featuring key performance metrics
• Design, implement, and analyze A/B and multivariate tests, deriving actionable learnings
• Analyze supporter journeys, audience segments, and behavior patterns to inform optimization strategies
• Produce ad-hoc analyses and strategic recommendations for leadership decisions
• Ensure data quality and integrity across all fundraising systems

What We're Looking For

• Degree or professional training in fundraising, business administration, controlling, information systems, statistics, or data science (or equivalent demonstrated qualifications for career changers)
• Minimum three years of experience in digital fundraising within a nonprofit organization
• Strong proficiency with qualitative and quantitative data analysis tools, including tracking and analytics platforms
• Advanced SQL database skills and experience with CRM systems
• Proven experience with A/B and multivariate testing methodologies
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana, Monday.com, Jira, or similar platforms
• Structured, independent working style with strong problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines effectively
• Flexibility in responding to unexpected challenges and identifying alternatives
• Collaborative approach to teamwork in hybrid/distributed environments
• Experience using AI tools thoughtfully in daily work, with understanding that quality results require clear instructions, sufficient context, and careful review
• Alignment with the organization's vision, mission, and cultural values
• German language proficiency required; based in or willing to relocate to Berlin

Pay

The client organization offers an annual salary between €45,996 and €52,895 based on experience, plus performance bonuses. Additional benefits include a cafeteria-style benefits model (financial advantages, Deutschland-Ticket, or additional vacation days), health service subsidies, and occupational pension contributions.
