About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential payment services provider in the fintech sector, authorized and regulated across Europe. Our client secures online payments for crowdfunding platforms, marketplaces, and e-commerce operators with a strong commitment to fraud prevention and fund protection.
This Paris-based organization operates under European regulatory oversight and serves hundreds of platforms managing millions of user wallets. Following recent significant growth capital and achieving profitability, they are expanding their Compliance & Risk department and seeking a Senior Regulatory Officer to join their Regulatory team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain ongoing regulatory watch on developments applicable to payment service providers in France and across Europe, including evolving directives and frameworks for instant payments, open banking, and digital assets
- Draft analytical notes on the operational impacts of new regulations for internal stakeholders
- Support preparation of periodic regulatory reporting including prudential reports, capital requirements, and activity declarations
- Contribute to responses to information requests from French and European regulatory authorities
- Monitor compliance with authorization conditions including capital requirements, client fund segregation, and governance frameworks
- Support preparation of authorization modification files and passporting procedures
- Analyze new products and services from a regulatory perspective prior to launch
- Update internal regulatory policies and procedures
- Provide daily regulatory guidance to commercial, product, and technical teams
What We're Looking For
Education:
- Master's degree (Bac +5) in business law, banking and financial law, or equivalent
- Legal practice certificate or Master's in financial law/compliance is a plus
Experience:
- More than 5 years of experience on regulatory matters related to payment services, fintech, or the banking sector
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of payment services regulation, authorization frameworks, and prudential rules
- Keen interest in emerging regulatory topics including digital asset frameworks, operational resilience standards, open banking, and instant payments
- Ability to draft clear and concise analyses on technical regulatory subjects
- Rigor, intellectual curiosity, and autonomy in work organization
- Fluent French (primary working language)
- Professional English required at C1 level minimum for internal procedures, interactions with European regulators, and international partners
