About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential hospitality organization that operates premium meeting and event spaces in Central London. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Audio Visual Technician to support live corporate events and meetings at a flagship South Bank location. This is a full-time, onsite role requiring immediate availability.

Important: Candidates must currently reside in the UK and hold the right to work without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and support all event technology services including audio, video, lighting, networking, webcasting, and video conferencing for corporate meetings and events
  • Lead troubleshooting and technical assistance for clients of varying technical proficiency levels
  • Troubleshoot AV equipment: audio mixers, wireless microphone systems, video switchers, projectors, displays, LED video walls, and lighting systems
  • Diagnose and resolve computer hardware, software, peripheral devices, mobile devices, and network component issues
  • Coordinate pre-event planning with property teams and management to ensure all technological requirements are met
  • Audit technical quotes and attend pre-event and production meetings as needed
  • Supervise daily floor operations including setup, strike, room team management, and equipment oversight
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships and respond to reasonable requests during programs
  • Collaborate with production teams to understand and deliver excellent client experiences
  • Review and recommend updates to departmental standard operating procedures quarterly
  • Participate in cross-departmental collaborative projects
  • Maintain professional appearance and demonstrate initiative in problem-solving

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 4-5 years of experience supporting AV and IT equipment and computer software systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of audiovisual equipment including analog/digital audio mixers, wireless microphone systems, seamless video switchers, and projectors/displays
  • Basic understanding of Crestron and other central control systems
  • Fundamental knowledge of data networking principles, architecture, and applications
  • Experience with installation, configuration, operation, and administration of operating systems, applications, and hardware for Macs, PCs, LANs, and servers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Apple iWorks business applications
  • Customer service or hospitality experience strongly preferred

Technical Equipment Experience:

  • Audio: 4-48 channel analog/digital mixers, wireless microphone lavaliers and handhelds, push-to-talk systems, audio recorders; Biamp Server/Forte systems a plus
  • Video: Switchers, projectors, LCD displays, LED video walls; media server familiarity a plus
  • Lighting: Knowledge of lighting maps, concepts, best practices, and rigging fundamentals
  • IT: Wi-Fi troubleshooting, hardline internet connectivity, DHCP/Static IP addressing, collaboration tools
  • Hybrid/Streaming: Virtual meeting platforms, live streaming technologies including cameras, encoders, lighting, and transmission protocols (RTMPs/HLS/SRT)
  • Control Systems: Crestron control systems and hardware; AVoIP fundamentals a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to climb and work on a ladder for lengthy periods
  • Flexibility to work long and weekend hours when required

Pay

Our client offers a salary range of £36,000-38,000 annually plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.
