About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential SaaS client in their search for a Senior Data Engineer to join their Analytics & Data Platform team. This is a remote position based in France, offering the chance to work on real-time analytics infrastructure serving thousands of global users.
Our talent team is seeking an experienced engineer who will design and build scalable streaming data solutions that unlock business value through real-time insights and comprehensive analytics.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements analysis, solution design, and end-to-end delivery of near real-time data platform modules
- Translate business requirements into optimized data models for big data environments
- Build and maintain low-latency streaming data pipelines and architectures
- Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize queries for improved system efficiency
- Write clean, scalable code using Scala, Python, and SQL with comprehensive testing
- Solve complex data challenges utilizing structured and unstructured data sources
- Contribute to product performance optimization and production monitoring
- Mentor team members through actionable feedback and knowledge sharing
- Deploy applications and systems using continuous deployment practices
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical field
- 5+ years of professional experience with modern programming languages such as Scala, Python, Go, or TypeScript
- 3+ years of hands-on experience building near real-time analytics solutions
- Proven track record designing complex data processing pipelines
- Strong experience with data modeling approaches including star schema and dimensional modeling in AWS Redshift
- Demonstrated expertise in query optimization techniques
- Experience shipping and maintaining production code
- Knowledge of Kafka is advantageous
- Collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for sharing ideas and learning from others
- Technical stack familiarity: AWS services (Kinesis, Kafka, S3, DMS, Glue, EMR, EKS, Redshift, Spectrum), Apache Pinot, Apache Flink, Airflow, and GitLab-based CI/CD
