About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential global marketplace technology organization with operations across multiple markets. Our client is seeking a Security Engineer to join their Security Operations team in Poland or Portugal. This is a remote position requiring residency in one of these countries.
You will report to the Head of Security and work alongside engineering teams to strengthen security incident management, automation, and threat detection capabilities across cloud-native platforms.
Responsibilities
- Support Security Operations Center (SOC) activities including incident response lifecycle management
- Contribute to organization-wide incident response training programs
- Integrate platforms and services with SOC infrastructure
- Participate in protect, detect, and respond engineering initiatives
- Engage in threat hunting exercises and investigations
- Enhance threat intelligence systems and capabilities
- Develop, improve, and manage automated alert escalation processes
- Build custom security integrations using Python and Bash in containerized environments (Kubernetes)
- Collaborate with Technology, Privacy, and Compliance teams to strengthen security posture
What We're Looking For
- 4-6 years of security operations or security engineering experience
- 4-6 years of hands-on experience with Elastic stack for SIEM implementation
- Proven incident response experience in dynamic, cloud-based environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- 4-6 years working with cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Strong understanding of modern security technologies including WAF, SSDLC, IAM, IDS/IPS, SOAR, SIEM, MDM, XDR, and endpoint protection
- Proficiency with common operating systems and network protocols
- Knowledge of pager/alert management and escalation tools
- Understanding of least privilege, agile methodologies, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and container orchestration
- Familiarity with security and privacy frameworks such as NIST, ISO27001, CIS, PCI DSS, GDPR, and NIS2
- Must currently reside in Poland or Portugal
