Machine Learning Engineer / ML Engineer – Roleplay Sessions

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology organization that is building interactive training platforms. Our talent team is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join a product focused on conversational AI coaching systems.

This is a remote opportunity available across Europe, with a preference for candidates based in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, or Ireland.

Responsibilities

You will build the AI engine that powers interactive roleplay coaching experiences. Your work will include:

• Creating models that process learner responses during conversational exercises and generate real-time feedback
• Developing scoring mechanisms that evaluate performance against training objectives
• Building systems that determine appropriate AI responses based on learner behavior
• Applying machine learning techniques to solve product problems in an applied engineering context
• Working across different products as a software engineer with ML expertise
• Iterating quickly on features in a fast-paced environment

What We're Looking For

• At least 7 years of experience as a software engineer, with at least 2 years at senior level
• Strong ability to apply machine learning knowledge to real product problems (this is an applied ML role, not research)
• Experience working in high-performing engineering teams operating at scale
• Product-focused software development skills alongside ML expertise
• Strong alignment with commercial success and business outcomes
• Pragmatism and bias toward action; comfort with fast iteration
• Right to work in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, or potentially other European locations subject to compliance checks

Pay

The client offers a base salary starting at €120,000 or local currency equivalent (GBP/CHF), plus equity (RSUs). This is full-time employment through the client's entities or employer of record, with 25 days of leave plus local holidays.
