Senior IT Systems Administrator (m/f/d) Network & Security

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential autonomous vehicle technology organization in Berlin that is advancing mobility solutions through cutting-edge AI and engineering. Our talent team is seeking a Senior IT Systems Administrator to own and evolve their network and security infrastructure from the ground up.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll build and maintain enterprise-grade network systems that support complex, safety-critical engineering operations. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary technical teams in a collaborative, on-site environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and structure the corporate network end-to-end, including both hardware and software components
• Monitor, maintain, and support network infrastructure to ensure high availability across the organization
• Implement and continuously monitor security measures to protect against unauthorized access
• Monitor system performance and network integrity, identifying bottlenecks and issues proactively
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across systems
• Analyze and resolve network issues through hands-on troubleshooting and performance tuning
• Own regular maintenance, patching, and system hygiene processes
• Create and maintain clear documentation of network configurations
• Prepare and maintain documentation for certifications and compliance frameworks including NIS2 and ISO 27001

What We're Looking For

• A degree in IT or Computer Science, completed vocational training as a System Administrator, or equivalent hands-on experience
• Strong knowledge of network technologies, network architecture, and network design principles
• Confident, hands-on experience with routing and switching, and network monitoring tools
• Proven experience integrating and implementing VLANs
• Track record in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and regular maintenance and patching
• At least 7 years of relevant experience with the confidence to work independently
• Fluent English (C1 level) is required; German (B2/C1) is a strong plus
• Experience with UniFi devices is a plus
• Stress-resistant, solution-oriented mindset with hands-on energy and genuine enthusiasm for building infrastructure from the ground up

Location: Berlin, Germany. This role requires on-site presence as the team prioritizes face-to-face collaboration for mission-critical work.
