Product Lead, AI Platform

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential B2B SaaS organization in their search for a Product Lead, AI Platform. This is a unique player-coach role where you will own foundational AI infrastructure while leading and developing a specialized team of Product Managers. You'll define the architectural standards for how our client builds and ships AI at scale, creating the orchestration engine that enables every product team to deliver secure, reliable, and intelligent agentic experiences.

This role offers the rare opportunity to architect a foundational AI operating system while simultaneously building and mentoring a high-performing product team in a fast-growing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale a specialized pod of Product Managers, serving as formal people manager responsible for hiring, coaching, development, and performance management
• Personally drive the design and evolution of the core AI orchestration engine, ensuring robust state management, tenant routing, and high-performance runtime for intelligent workflows
• Own and modernize the developer experience by designing internal SDKs and capability registration patterns that enable teams to build and integrate intelligence tools
• Define and implement evaluation frameworks, guardrails, and security protocols to ensure AI outputs remain accurate, evidenced, and enterprise-grade across the platform
• Drive foundational model strategy including routing logic, cost optimization, and compute infrastructure management to maximize performance and efficiency
• Act as strategic partner to product leadership, surfacing technical risks early, driving clarity in platform architecture, and translating AI strategy into operational reality
• Shift the organization from hard-coded logic to dynamic orchestration models, providing the infrastructure that enables multi-step agentic workflows
• Establish contract-first platform development patterns that allow teams to consume AI capabilities in a self-serve, standardized manner
• Ensure the platform is built for enterprise scale, balancing rapid innovation with rigorous demands of global B2B environments

What We're Looking For

• 8-10+ years in Product Management with focus on AI, Platform, or Infrastructure
• 3-5+ years of formal people management experience in a high-growth environment
• Proven track record building and leading product teams, mentoring senior PMs, managing performance, and creating environments where technical builders thrive
• Deep, hands-on technical expertise with modern AI stack—you've personally architected orchestration layers, developer platforms, or complex distributed systems at scale
• Strong systems thinking ability to see the whole picture across strategy, organization, data, and execution
• Demonstrated operating rigor in building rhythms that scale, driving clarity in ambiguous environments, and resolving complex cross-team dependencies
• Experience defining technical standards for agent orchestration and model routing at enterprise scale
• Located in USA (remote role)

Pay

Base salary range for this position is $197,997.50 - $260,863.00, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation may include bonus, commission, and equity. The client offers comprehensive benefits including health coverage, paid parental leave, generous PTO and holidays, quarterly self-care days, and stock options.
