As a Senior Launch Operations Engineer, you will work with a team in Germany that transforms mission concepts into operational reality. From campaign conception through execution, you will align launch sites, synchronize cross-functional teams, and define the operational frameworks that enable successful launches.
This role sits at the intersection of planning and execution. You will contribute to building repeatable, scalable operations across multiple launch sites, creating the structure that enables global teams to execute with precision and confidence.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and prepare launch and stage acceptance campaigns end-to-end, ensuring complete launch system readiness with potential growth into test or launch director roles
- Develop comprehensive technical understanding of launch systems to make sound operational decisions under pressure and guide local teams while maintaining global alignment
- Own mission-level configuration management, keeping design, manufacturing, assembly, and testing aligned with mission objectives
- Shape the future of multi-site launch operations as the organization scales, defining how global teams execute missions across expanding launch cadences
- Provide direct operational feedback to engineering teams, ensuring flight experience continuously improves system design
- Lead coordination efforts on-site and in control rooms, translating months of preparation into successful launch execution
- Deploy to global launch sites for multi-week campaign operations
What We're Looking For
- Minimum five years of experience in the space sector or comparable high-stakes environment with strong mission or operational background, ideally including launch-related responsibilities
- Degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, or comparable engineering discipline
- System-level technical understanding of launch vehicles and subsystems
- Demonstrated autonomy and solution-oriented mindset
- Experience in multidisciplinary troubleshooting and cross-functional coordination
- Ability to maintain clarity and performance during high-stress, long-duration operational settings
- Strong organizational discipline, situational awareness, and ability to lead within diverse teams
- Comfort working independently and adapting quickly to highly dynamic environments
- Willingness to travel internationally for multi-week campaign deployments
- Fluent English required
