Consulting Manager (m/f/d) Data & AI Strategy

Responsibilities

We are representing a leading strategy and data consulting firm in Germany, and we're seeking a Consulting Manager – Data & AI Strategy to join their growing practice in Berlin or Munich.

In this role, you will:

• Lead AI Transformation Programs: Steer end-to-end execution of enterprise-level AI transformations. Identify internal champions, navigate corporate dynamics, manage structural challenges, and drive measurable user adoption and organizational change.
• Strategy & AI Use Case Scoping: Partner with C-level stakeholders on high-stakes questions: How can AI reshape business models? How should data be governed? You'll evaluate model choices, discuss data privacy trade-offs, and assess technical feasibility.
• Drive Business Growth: Take ownership of lead generation and pipeline conversion by engaging prospective clients, shaping proposals, and leading pre-sales and key-account expansion initiatives.
• Thought Leadership: Represent the firm's AI transformation perspective externally through expert discussions, content creation, and hands-on perspectives on applied AI trends and real-world adoption pathways.
• Advance the Practice: Evolve methodologies, tools, and frameworks. Develop reusable transformation playbooks and bring strategic consulting or technology expertise to the team.
• Team Leadership & Mentoring: Lead, coach, and mentor agile, hybrid project teams including consultants, data scientists, and engineers in a fast-paced environment.

• Work Experience: Approximately 5–8 years in top-tier management consulting, technology consulting, or strategic corporate roles, with a proven track record leading data, analytics, or AI-driven transformation projects.
• Transformation & Change Management: Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional transformation programs, managing executive stakeholders, and embedding AI capabilities within organizations.
• AI Fluency & Builder Mindset: Strong understanding of modern applied AI including GenAI, LLMs, agentic systems, and automated workflows. Hands-on understanding to credibly demonstrate working AI concepts and discuss data privacy and technical constraints.
• Analytical & Technical Acumen: Knowledge of machine learning techniques, cloud architectures, and data management principles. Excellent quantitative skills to derive strategic insights from complex data.
• Communication & Presence: Outstanding communication, presentation, and moderation skills. Ability to translate complex technical topics for non-technical senior executives and bridge to technical execution teams.
• Education: Excellent academic track record with Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Business Informatics, Physics, Mathematics, or comparable quantitative field.
• Languages: Business fluency in both German and English (written and spoken) is mandatory. Additional languages are a plus.
• Work Eligibility: Valid work permit for Germany required.

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process and are competitive with the German consulting market for this seniority level.
