About This Opportunity
Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential fintech organization expanding across Europe. They're building mobile-first financial platforms and are looking for a skilled Android Software Engineer to join their team remotely from Austria.
This is a role for an engineer who genuinely cares about clean user flows, fast performance, and shipping reliable mobile features used by real customers in financial services.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship Android features using Kotlin for financial service applications
- Create clean mobile flows for complex financial transactions and user journeys
- Collaborate with product and design teams to simplify challenging user experiences
- Integrate backend APIs and ensure mobile flows are stable, secure and reliable
- Improve app performance metrics including crash rate, loading states, responsiveness and memory usage
- Use analytics, user behavior data and production issues to continuously improve the product
- Build AI-assisted mobile experiences where they genuinely enhance the user journey
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin
- Strong Android fundamentals with proven experience shipping production applications
- Solid knowledge of Jetpack, Coroutines, Flow and modern Android architecture patterns
- Strong sense of mobile UX, usability, edge cases and user flow design
- Experience integrating REST APIs and debugging production issues
- Fast execution capabilities, high ownership mentality and strong attention to product quality
- Tech stack includes: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, Coroutines & Flow, SQL/NoSQL, TensorFlow Lite
- App links, GitHub portfolio, screenshots or examples of shipped work are a strong advantage
- Must be currently based in Austria for this remote position
- Strong English communication skills required
Ideal candidates: Think in user journeys not just screens, care about making complex financial products feel simple, move fast without creating messy code, notice UX and performance issues proactively, and can clearly articulate their personal contributions to past projects.
This role is not suitable for: Engineers who only want fully defined tickets, developers who ignore crashes or edge cases, those who move slowly in startup environments, or candidates who cannot explain their specific contributions to team projects.
