Luo Language Specialist – Freelance AI Trainer Project

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a highly skilled Luo language specialist for a freelance AI training project. This remote contract role offers the chance to contribute your linguistic expertise to shape how AI models understand and generate Luo language content. You'll work directly with cutting-edge language model training, providing the cultural and linguistic precision that will help millions of Luo speakers worldwide access better AI tools.

Responsibilities

On a typical day, you will:

• Review and annotate Luo language content for AI training purposes
• Assess AI-generated outputs for accuracy, fluency, and cultural appropriateness
• Evaluate grammar, syntax, semantics, and style of Luo text
• Identify and document error patterns in model outputs
• Collaborate with the training team to refine prompts and evaluation methods
• Provide expert feedback on linguistic guidelines and cultural context
• Strengthen model performance through detailed linguistic analysis

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Native or near-native fluency in Luo
• Demonstrated professional experience in translation, linguistics, language teaching, editing, or related fields
• Strong cultural knowledge and understanding of Luo-speaking communities
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Clear communication skills in English for collaboration
• Access to a secure computer and stable internet connection

Preferred:

• Experience in training, coaching, or linguistic annotation
• Background working with language data or computational linguistics
• Mid to senior-level professional experience in language work
