Staff Software Engineer, Unified Modeling (CV/ML)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential automotive technology client building advanced driver assistance systems. They're seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their unified modeling team, developing cutting-edge computer vision and machine learning solutions that will power next-generation vehicle autonomy features.

This role is based in the United States and offers the opportunity to work on production-grade perception systems that translate research into real-world applications on public roads.

Responsibilities

• Develop spatio-temporal machine learning models for detection, multi-sensor fusion, and segmentation
• Analyze raw sensor data and design state-of-the-art solutions based on current research literature
• Transition algorithms from research prototypes to production-level implementations on vehicles
• Collaborate with perception experts and roboticists on algorithm design, prototyping, testing, and deployment
• Build compute-efficient, multi-view, multi-sensor deep learning models for 3D object detection, lane detection, state estimation, and scene segmentation
• Develop clean, efficient software for perception modules that interface with planning, prediction, and localization systems
• Maintain industry-leading software practices and contribute to a fast-paced, innovative environment

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field
• 7+ years of industry experience in machine learning and computer vision
• Expert-level knowledge developing and deploying deep learning solutions using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar frameworks
• Experience developing perception systems using Camera, Radar, and LiDAR sensors
• Strong background in computer vision, perception, and point cloud processing
• Proven track record shipping computer vision software products to industry or consumers
• At least 5 years of development experience in Python/C++ environments
• Legal authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis

Preferred qualifications:

• Ph.D. with machine learning focus or equivalent experience
• Experience developing and deploying temporal computer vision models (video activity recognition, multi-frame processing)
