About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare organization seeking a Communication Liaison Specialist to support a critical organ procurement and transplantation network program. This remote role combines technical editing, stakeholder coordination, and federal communications expertise to ensure high-quality, compliant written materials reach diverse audiences—from clinical committees to the public.

You'll serve as the communications bridge between program staff and federal agency partners, ensuring all deliverables meet plain language standards, branding requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Editing and Quality Control: Perform detailed editing and proofreading of plans, SOPs, reports, meeting summaries, and training materials; ensure consistency in style, terminology, and formatting; apply federal Plain Language Guidelines and agency branding standards; maintain editorial templates and checklists.
  • Committee and Board Materials: Review and refine slide decks, briefing documents, and talking points for safety and compliance committees and board meetings; ensure materials are clear, accurate, and appropriate for clinical, technical, and leadership audiences; coordinate review timelines to meet deadlines.
  • Public-Facing Communications: Draft, edit, and format website content, fact sheets, and program summaries for non-technical audiences; ensure compliance with federal requirements including accessibility standards (Section 508); support development of standard messaging templates.
  • Agency Liaison: Serve as primary point of contact with federal communications staff; coordinate routing of materials for written approval; track communications requests and maintain documentation of approvals and guidance; ensure consistent application of SOPs.
  • Internal Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, analysts, and subject matter experts to understand content context and audiences; support preparation of accessible charts, tables, and graphics; contribute to continuous improvement of communication workflows.

What We're Looking For

Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Public Health, Public Policy, Health Administration, Journalism, or related field (Master's preferred)

Experience: 5+ years in technical editing, communications, or similar roles supporting complex programs; experience with federal agencies, healthcare, public health, or regulatory/compliance environments strongly preferred; prior committee or board-level communications support a plus

Core Skills:

  • Exceptional technical editing and writing ability—translating complex regulatory and technical content into clear, accessible language
  • Deep attention to detail with accuracy in grammar, formatting, and content review
  • Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn federal plain language requirements, branding guidelines, and restrictions on lobbying/advertising
  • Strong stakeholder coordination experience working with diverse teams (program staff, clinicians, policy experts, communications offices)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to provide constructive editorial feedback
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), SharePoint/Teams, and virtual meeting platforms; Section 508 accessibility experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage concurrent deadlines in a fast-paced environment
