DevOps Engineer Application Management Services (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential IT consultancy based in Germany. They operate sophisticated DevOps platforms for clients in regulated sectors, focusing on complete operational and deployment environments rather than just pipeline maintenance. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of production customer environments while implementing modern DevOps practices from build through to rollout.

The position is available in Berlin, Bonn, or Essen with hybrid working arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize automated build, test, and deployment processes across customer environments
• Develop custom Puppet modules and automation solutions for infrastructure management
• Execute rollouts in production customer environments with minimal disruption
• Provide architectural and operational guidance to development teams
• Perform third-level support including analysis and resolution of complex operational incidents
• Build and enhance monitoring, logging, and observability solutions
• Contribute to the operation and evolution of CI/CD platforms
• Manage and develop Kubernetes platforms using GitOps principles
• Participate in modern cloud-native and GitOps initiatives

What We're Looking For

Required Skills:

• Solid experience working in Linux environments
• Proven track record with automation and Infrastructure as Code practices
• Strong understanding of modern DevOps principles and methodologies
• Passion for building sustainable solutions and working autonomously
• Deep expertise in at least one of: Puppet/Bolt, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes/Cluster API, or Linux administration
• Native-level German language proficiency and good English skills

Technical Environment:

• CI/CD: Jenkins, Bitbucket, Maven, Gradle, npm, Nexus
• Configuration Management: Puppet, Bolt, r10k, Terraform, Bash, PowerShell, Ruby
• Containers: Kubernetes, Cluster API, ArgoCD, Docker, Proxmox
• Observability: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana
• Databases: PostgreSQL
• Operating Systems: Ubuntu Linux, Windows Server

Valued Additional Experience:

• Operating business-critical applications in production
• PostgreSQL database administration
• Observability and monitoring platform implementation
• Shell scripting (Bash or PowerShell)
• Java, Kotlin, or Spring Boot development
• Working in regulated or security-critical environments
