Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential aerospace technology client seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in München. In this role, you will:

  • Develop and design assemblies for precision optical systems within a multidisciplinary engineering team
  • Work independently with significant technical ownership and responsibility
  • Create and maintain assembly models throughout the complete product life cycle
  • Perform tolerancing and verification of complex systems
  • Derive system and subsystem requirements and define critical interfaces and envelopes
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation including manufacturing specifications
  • Conduct strength and modal analysis for initial part dimensioning
  • Document results thoroughly and present findings to project teams and technical reviews

What We're Looking For

  • University degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience designing optomechanical systems with strong knowledge of design principles and tolerance analysis
  • Passion for developing technical solutions for high-precision applications in demanding environments
  • Hands-on mentality with willingness to build and test your own designs
  • Design expertise reflecting knowledge of manufacturing processes and serial production requirements
  • Solid understanding of design calculations and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software and PLM systems; experience with Siemens Teamcenter/NX is ideal
  • Results-oriented, reliable, and proactive working style with ability to work independently
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Enthusiasm for working in an innovative, dynamic, team-oriented environment
