Head of Data / Tech / E-COM (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential consumer brand in München that is building its technical and data foundation from the ground up. In this role, you will:

• Unify disparate data sources from marketing, product, finance, and supply chain into a single cloud data platform, enabling self-service BI and moving teams away from Excel-based silos
• Implement and scale AI-first process automation across five core business areas—marketing, product, supply chain, customer service, and finance—with use cases ranging from automated reporting to AI-powered quality assurance
• Serve as the technical liaison between team leads and executive leadership, translating business requirements into pragmatic, actionable technical solutions
• Lead a two-person e-commerce team with both functional and disciplinary responsibility, prioritizing tasks, managing resources, and developing team members to build in-house shop competency and reduce agency dependence
• Drive hands-on implementation without the support of a large development team, ensuring AI pilots move into production and deliver measurable impact

What We're Looking For

• Approximately 4–7 years of practical experience in data and e-commerce environments, ideally in direct-to-consumer settings
• Strong expertise in building unified data architectures and self-service BI solutions, with end-to-end experience integrating multiple data sources into a single platform
• Proven track record of deploying AI and process automation solutions independently and bringing them into production use
• Hands-on mentality and comfort working without a dedicated development team, thriving in autonomous execution
• Fluent German language skills and willingness to work on-site in München three days per week
• Experience within the Shopify ecosystem (theme/Liquid development, apps, API integrations) is a strong plus and will support building internal shop capabilities
