Our client is building mission-critical software that helps users streamline operations, scale efficiently, and focus on what matters most in their professional and personal lives. With backing from top-tier investors and a distributed team across multiple continents, this organization values innovation, ownership, and delivering real impact to end users.
We're hiring a Software Engineer II to join our client's Platform organization in Poland. This role will sit on either the Identity & Access Management team (working with authentication, authorization, and technologies like Keycloak) or the API team (focused on backend performance and reliability). You'll take ownership of features from design through deployment, contribute to architectural decisions, and help build systems that serve over 75,000 daily active users.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain reliable and performant software systems that deliver measurable value to users
- Take end-to-end ownership of features or components, ensuring quality, scalability, and resilience from design through production deployment
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate product requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and design sessions, providing constructive feedback and contributing new ideas
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, identify root causes, and implement robust fixes across the stack
- Help establish technical standards and best practices that promote consistency, maintainability, and performance
- Mentor junior engineers through collaboration, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
- Explore and apply emerging technologies, including AI tools, to improve developer productivity and system quality
What We're Looking For
- 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience
- Solid understanding of software design principles, system architecture, and modern development practices
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, with willingness and ability to learn Ruby (our client's primary stack)
- Experience building and maintaining production systems, including debugging and performance optimization
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across disciplines and teams
- Problem-solving mindset with ability to balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability
- Product-oriented thinking—motivated by building solutions that serve real customer needs
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to improve workflows or enhance outputs
- Fluency in both Polish and English
- Nice to have: experience with Ruby/Rails, event-driven architectures, MySQL at scale, or platform/infrastructure work
