(Senior) Social Media & Video Editor (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital agency client in Köln who is seeking a talented (Senior) Social Media & Video Editor to join their creative team. This role combines strategic social media thinking with hands-on content production, offering the opportunity to shape brand narratives across platforms while leading redactional and video production workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop social media formats and editorial concepts aligned with brand strategy, target audiences, and platform algorithms, including scheduling and publishing
• Advise clients on the strategic development of their social accounts, bringing innovative ideas and fresh perspectives to the table
• Manage community engagement and publishing for selected accounts, continuously refining editorial guidelines and content standards
• Prepare editorial shoots, oversee on-set redactional execution, conduct interviews, and identify which stories, scenes, and assets will perform on social platforms
• Handle editorial video editing in Adobe Premiere, transforming raw footage into platform-optimized social assets and coordinating external and internal editors during post-production
• Write captions, hooks, and social copy for organic content, as well as campaign headlines and other communication formats

What We're Looking For

• Several years of professional experience in social media, editorial, content, or video production—ideally gained at an agency or production company
• Strategic and editorial thinking combined with the ability to execute content creation hands-on
• Strong intuition for social trends, platform logic, and relevant content formats
• Advanced skills in Adobe Premiere; familiarity with other Adobe Creative Suite programs is a plus
• Experience in editorial shoot preparation and on-set supervision
• Strong sense for language, storytelling, and adapting to different brand tonalities
• Consulting competence: ability to advise clients confidently and argue recommendations persuasively
• Structured, independent, and reliable work style with the ability to manage multiple clients and productions simultaneously
• Excellent German and English language skills
