FBS Data Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential insurance technology organization that is building advanced analytics capabilities to drive marketing decisions and business growth. Our client has partnered with us to find a talented Data Engineer who will be instrumental in designing and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers their direct marketing models.

This is a remote opportunity based in Mexico, working with a global team focused on data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and monitor the data ecosystem supporting critical modeling initiatives:

• Data Infrastructure Development: Architect and build scalable data pipelines using modern ETL tools and frameworks such as DBT. Automate data ingestion processes from databases, APIs, and third-party services. Design and implement data warehousing solutions using platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery, optimizing for performance, cost efficiency, and scalability.
• Data Modeling and Transformation: Develop and maintain logical and physical data models to support business analytics. Create dimensional models, star/snowflake schemas, and other data structures. Transform raw data into clean, analytics-ready datasets using SQL and Python. Implement data transformation workflows for cleansing, normalization, and enrichment.
• Data Quality Assurance: Conduct data validation and consistency checks to ensure accuracy and reliability. Implement data quality monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand data needs. Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Data Governance and Security: Implement and enforce data governance policies ensuring privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. Define and manage data access controls, permissions, and audit trails. Monitor security measures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with industry standards such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.

What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Python and SQL
• Proven experience in data transformation and pipeline design and development
• Strong data quality assurance background
• Excellent technical communication skills
• Experience working with DBT (Data Build Tool) and Snowflake
• Experience implementing data governance frameworks

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with Databricks
