Technical Escalations Engineer 2 (Database Monitoring) – EMEA

Responsibilities

Our talent team is representing a confidential observability platform client seeking a Technical Escalations Engineer 2 with deep database monitoring expertise to join their EMEA team in Paris. In this role, you will:

• Investigate complex technical escalations and lead high-stakes calls to resolve critical customer challenges with precision and urgency
• Develop deep technical expertise in database monitoring technologies and continuously expand your knowledge as products evolve
• Run office hours, deliver learning sessions, and mentor global support engineering teams to elevate their technical capabilities
• Partner with Engineering and Product teams to identify platform gaps, drive improvements, and advocate for customer needs
• Serve as the subject matter expert on database monitoring, mastering both technical architecture and customer experience
• Act as technical stakeholder for database agent integrations across PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server
• Develop robust internal runbooks, public-facing solutions, and reusable debugging frameworks to scale knowledge organization-wide
• Shape readiness plans for upcoming product releases, ensuring technical teams worldwide are confident and prepared

• Confidently recreate diverse customer environments across cloud-hosted databases (RDS, Azure, CloudSQL) and self-hosted deployments
• Have experience deploying across Linux, Windows, Kubernetes, and Docker environments
• Be passionate about root cause analysis and enjoy working on open-ended problems requiring systems thinking and experimentation
• Excel at cross-functional collaboration, teaching others, and making complex concepts approachable

Bonus qualifications:

• Computer Science or Engineering degree
• Experience with Zendesk, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with observability platforms and integration ecosystems
