Systemadministrator*in – IT Security & Endpoint Management

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential nonprofit organization in Germany that mobilizes progressive action and civic engagement at scale. Our talent team is seeking a Systems Administrator specializing in IT Security and Endpoint Management to join a three-person support team working remotely across Germany.

This is a 2-year fixed-term position requiring 39 hours per week. The role operates primarily from home office with subsidized co-working options and occasional travel for team meetings and on-site support needs.

Responsibilities

• Support organizational data protection and information security initiatives, collaborating closely with digital security and privacy specialists
• Take an active role in incident response, including post-incident analysis and implementation of risk mitigation measures (phishing, malware, zero-day vulnerabilities)
• Conduct risk assessments and implement reduction measures; contribute to creation and maintenance of information security policies, processes, and documentation
• Evaluate new and existing applications against IT security and compliance requirements
• Support integration of applications into the Mobile Device Management system and provide ongoing administration
• Oversee implementation of new internal services, communicate with internal and external stakeholders, and maintain existing internal systems (IAM, email mailboxes, mailing lists)
• Manage procurement and configuration of hardware (notebooks, tablets, mobile devices) and software
• Provide user support for daily hardware and software challenges

What We're Looking For

• Completed apprenticeship as IT Specialist for System Integration with 3-5 years relevant professional experience, or comparable qualification
• Initial experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC); familiarity with SIEM and IAM systems
• Ability to recognize automation opportunities and implement them via Python, Shell scripts, or low-code solutions
• Deep knowledge of macOS; experience supporting Windows and Linux environments is ideal
• Experience with Mobile Device Management systems such as JAMF
• Solution-oriented and empathetic approach to working with people
• Strong sense of responsibility; commitment to data protection and security as essential priorities
• Experience in nonprofit organizations or political engagement; ability to provide a reference from civic or political work
• Alignment with progressive values and civic mission
• German language proficiency for daily collaboration

Pay

Compensation is based on German public sector pay scale TVöD Level 10. The client offers 31 vacation days, monthly child allowances (€493.20 for the first child at full-time), home office subsidy, overtime compensation, weekend/holiday work bonuses, and subsidized fitness membership.
