Customer Solutions Engineer Paris

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential enterprise storage organization seeking a Customer Solutions Engineer based in Paris. In this senior technical role, you will deploy, integrate, and optimize distributed storage solutions at customer sites and remotely throughout France and Europe. You will serve as the primary technical point of contact throughout the post-sales journey, working closely with customers from initial deployment through ongoing optimization.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Delivering integration, consulting, training, and professional services to enterprise customers
• Managing complex technical deployments in production environments, including secure and military facilities
• Creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation covering architecture, configuration, and processes
• Coordinating customer and internal stakeholder interactions for accounts with extended service requirements
• Collaborating with product teams to communicate customer feature requests and requirements
• Leading project delivery as the primary customer contact, ensuring quality and timelines are met
• Participating in on-call rotation and occasional after-hours work as needed

What We're Looking For

Experience Required:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure, systems administration, or storage engineering
• 5+ years working with Linux/UNIX system administration in large-scale distributed environments
• Proven track record in customer-facing professional services or consulting delivery
• BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

Technical Skills:

• Strong Linux/UNIX expertise managing distributed systems at scale
• Deep understanding of x86 platforms, RAID architecture, and file systems
• Experience with storage technologies: NAS, SAN, distributed file systems, object storage, RESTful APIs, Amazon S3
• Solid networking foundation including TCP/IP, bridging, bonding, and VLAN
• Familiarity with high availability, load balancing, cloud platforms, and containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell) and automation tools (SaltStack, Ansible)
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and tools like Jira and Confluence
• C/Java development skills are a plus

• Fluent English (written and spoken) — mandatory; additional European languages a strong plus
• Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex technical concepts to business stakeholders
• Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing practices
• Customer-focused approach with active listening and problem validation skills
• Project management capabilities with ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives
• Collaborative team player comfortable working with cross-functional teams
• Adaptable and self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision

Location and Travel:

• Based in Paris / Île-de-France region
• Hybrid work model requiring minimum 2 days per week in office
• Approximately 30% travel across France and Europe
• Eligibility for mandatory background security screening (required for secure customer environments)
