Controller*in Senior / Business Analyst*in (m/w/d) in Bonn

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential nonprofit organization in Bonn seeking a Senior Controller / Business Analyst to shape the future of financial planning and analytics through modern BI, predictive analytics, and AI solutions.

In this role, you will:

• Serve as a strategic partner to business units, advising on budgets, ongoing expenditures, and forecasts while identifying critical financial developments and collaborating on corrective measures
• Evaluate key performance indicators with stakeholders, conduct in-depth analyses when needed, and advise on appropriate action plans
• Support departments in creating cost-benefit analyses and business cases, critically assessing objectives and assumptions from a financial perspective
• Perform ad-hoc analyses to evaluate current business developments and anomalies, presenting insights in stakeholder-appropriate formats
• Develop new reports and dashboards to maintain transparency on relevant developments, continuously reviewing and documenting KPIs while driving automation initiatives
• Build analysis tools and self-service solutions that enable user-friendly, efficient data work—including dashboards and data models—leveraging AI technologies strategically
• Support annual budget creation and associated approval processes
• Act as the central contact for financial accounting colleagues
• Monitor current trends in data analysis, business intelligence, predictive analytics, and AI to help shape the evolution of the controlling function

What We're Looking For

• Completed university degree or comparable qualification
• Several years of relevant professional experience in controlling, business analytics, business intelligence, or data analysis
• Proven experience designing and implementing complex analysis, reporting, and management solutions
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and business acumen with excellent methodological and problem-solving skills
• Independent, structured work style with enthusiasm for taking responsibility and advising business units
• Confident presence, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to convince diverse stakeholders
• Experience working with KPIs, dashboards, business cases, and modern analysis and BI tools
• Proactive engagement with current developments and trends in data analysis, business intelligence, and AI
• German language proficiency required for this Bonn-based position
