Werkstudent*in Klimafreundliche Busse (Data Analysis)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential public-sector organization focused on sustainable mobility initiatives. As a working student in data analysis, you will provide data-driven support for programs promoting alternative propulsion systems in public transportation. Your work will directly contribute to the electrification of bus fleets and rail systems.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Using Python and SQL to analyze datasets and extract actionable insights for transportation electrification programs
• Monitoring and analyzing market and technology developments in the alternative bus propulsion sector
• Creating compelling data visualizations and graphics using Plotly to communicate complex relationships clearly
• Developing standardized Python functions for internal libraries
• Organizing and systematizing relevant data foundations to ensure knowledge is structured and accessible
• Researching program-relevant information and identifying new data sources
• Supporting the team with inquiries from political, economic, and research stakeholders
• Assisting with preparation and follow-up for meetings and events
• Managing small sub-projects, coordination tasks, and reporting duties

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Natural Sciences, Engineering, or a comparable degree program
• Foundational knowledge of Python (especially pandas, Plotly), SQL (Redshift), and Git, with eagerness to develop these skills further
• Interest in public transport electrification, particularly bus systems
• Experience preparing and visualizing information from datasets
• Interest in cloud-based IT architectures such as AWS; practical experience is a plus
• Desire to learn about databases, data architectures, and data processing workflows in practice
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Structured, reliable, and independent working style
• Very good German language skills required for this role

Location: Berlin (Fasanenstrasse area) with excellent public transport connections. Remote work available up to 60% of working time.

Hours: Ideally 19.5 hours per week, flexible scheduling to accommodate your university timetable.

Contract: Initially limited to one year as a working student position.
