Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential sustainability organization based in Berlin. As a working student, you will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of climate-friendly maritime and port initiatives. Your responsibilities include:

• Supporting market, potential, and environmental analyses, and evaluating technology options and business models for climate-friendly shipping and ports
• Assisting with implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of national action plans and measures for sustainable maritime operations
• Supporting tender and procurement processes, managing external assignments, and preparing documentation for stakeholders
• Providing technical advisory support in the development of regulations and standards for alternative ship propulsion systems and fuels
• Assisting with the design and implementation of funding measures for climate-friendly shipping and ports
• Contributing to network activities with government agencies, industry, academia, and associations, as well as communications and public relations work, including event preparation, working meetings, and workshops

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks candidates with the following qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in natural sciences or engineering (mechanical engineering, drive technology, naval architecture, transport, industrial engineering), economics, political science, or similar fields
• Previous work experience through internships or similar roles in industry, service companies, trade associations, public administration, or research institutions
• Ideally, knowledge and experience related to the maritime economy (shipping, shipbuilding, supplier industries, port operations) and technical understanding of alternative propulsion systems and fuel infrastructures
• Preferably familiar with funding programs/projects and networking with government agencies, industry, academia, and associations
• Team-oriented, resilient, reliable, and committed
• Strong English language skills and excellent proficiency with standard MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Passion for sustainable mobility and climate action
• Available for approximately 19.5 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate your study program

Pay

This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. The position offers up to 60% remote work flexibility and is located in Berlin Fasanenstrasse with excellent public transport connections.
