Data Engineer Junior – Schwerpunkt Datenpipelines (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential nonprofit organization in Bonn, seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join their analytics and data team of five specialists. In this role, you will:

• Build and maintain modern data products that support reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision-making across the organization
• Support the provisioning of curated data for analysis, reporting, and other data-driven use cases
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and data processing workflows to deliver high-quality data
• Participate in data quality checks and assist with analyzing and resolving data errors
• Document data flows, interfaces, and technical relationships in a clear and understandable manner
• Collaborate closely with analysts, data scientists, architecture teams, development teams, and business stakeholders
• Support the implementation of standards for data quality, governance, and data reusability

What We're Looking For

Our client is seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business Informatics, or a comparable field
• Initial practical experience in data engineering gained through professional work, university studies, internships, working student positions, or personal projects
• Strong SQL skills and initial experience with Python for data processing and analysis
• Interest in data modeling and modern data platforms, ideally with some hands-on exposure
• Initial experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, or comparable data integration tasks
• Preferred: familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, or comparable cloud and data platforms
• Experience with Git or other version control systems is advantageous
• Structured, detail-oriented, and solution-focused working style
• Enthusiasm for analyzing technical challenges and developing solutions collaboratively within a team
• Commitment to clear documentation of work results
• Enjoyment of working with diverse business units and technical teams with open and reliable communication
• Interest in continuous development in data engineering, analytics, and modern data platforms

Location: Bonn, with flexible remote and hybrid options available
