Werkstudent Cyber Risk & Compliance (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential energy sector organization seeking a working student to support their Digital Security team with cyber risk management and compliance activities.

In this role, you will help identify, assess, and manage cyber risks at the intersection of business and IT. You'll support the team in understanding requirements from business units, deriving security and compliance risks, and ensuring that new and existing IT solutions meet security requirements following secure-by-design principles.

Your day-to-day work includes:

• Evaluating new applications against security requirements
• Ensuring security controls are integrated into solutions
• Conducting regular reviews of existing applications and processes
• Identifying and assessing IT and cyber risks
• Maintaining and updating the risk register and tracking remediation measures
• Supporting audits such as ISO 27001
• Preparing reports and documentation for internal and external audits

What We're Looking For

Our client is looking for a currently enrolled student in Computer Science, Business Informatics, IT Security/Cyber Security, Business Administration with IT focus, or a comparable field.

Essential qualifications:

• Interest in IT risk management, IT architecture, compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIS2, NIST CSF), and cyber security
• Strong MS Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Analytical thinking and structured working approach
• Interest in understanding connections between business and IT
• Initiative and willingness to learn
• Strong communication skills and team orientation
• Very good German and good English language skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Initial experience in IT or information security

This working student position is based in Hannover with flexible working hours to accommodate your study schedule. You'll gain hands-on experience in real IT projects and decision-making processes while working closely with an experienced team in a dynamic environment.
