About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential data analytics and AI consultancy based in Munich. Our client works at the intersection of marketing technology, machine learning, and data engineering, delivering end-to-end solutions from data integration through predictive modeling to AI agent systems. They're seeking a working student (Werkstudent) to join their Data & AI Engineering team for approximately 16–20 hours per week.

This is an excellent opportunity for a current university student to gain hands-on experience with modern data platforms, machine learning workflows, and foundation models in a production environment. You'll work on real client projects alongside experienced data scientists and engineers, taking ownership of defined work packages while receiving mentorship and technical guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Own defined work packages within data and AI projects as part of a cross-functional project team
  • Connect and integrate new data sources into the existing data infrastructure
  • Build domain-specific data models and data pipelines using Snowflake and dbt
  • Contribute to predictive analytics models, from data preparation through to evaluation and analysis
  • Support development of LLM agent systems and applications built on foundation models
  • Assist with monitoring AI applications (logging, alerting) without responsibility for production operations
  • Participate in client meetings, including requirements gathering and clarification
  • Present and explain your results to the team and stakeholders
  • Research AI topics such as data privacy considerations and emerging technologies, including independent assessment

Tech stack: Python, SQL, Git, Snowflake (data platform), dbt (transformations and data modeling), AWS (ML and LLM workloads including Bedrock and SageMaker), foundation models in production environments

What We're Looking For

Must-have qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Wirtschaftsinformatik (Business Informatics), Computer Science, or a comparable program with substantial computer science content
  • Working knowledge of Python, SQL, and databases
  • Independent working style with the ability to structure open-ended tasks and proactively seek feedback
  • Critical eye for your own results and intuition for when numbers don't make sense
  • Confident presence with colleagues and clients
  • Analytical thinking with careful, detail-oriented, and curious approach to work
  • Very good German and English language skills
  • Availability of approximately 16–20 hours per week

Nice-to-have experience:

  • Initial exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or data warehouse systems like Snowflake
  • Familiarity with dbt, MLOps, or CI/CD practices
  • Experience with Power BI or comparable reporting tools
  • Practical experience from internships, working student positions, or personal projects in data or AI environments

What our client offers: High degree of remote work flexibility with a modern office in Munich (Ostbahnhof area), ownership of work packages with early responsibility, mentorship from experienced data scientists and engineers, motivated interdisciplinary team, flexible working hours that accommodate exam periods, potential for thesis collaboration or full-time position after graduation
