Staff Product Manager [Accounting expertise] – German speaking 🇩🇪

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech client seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead their accounting product expansion in the German market. In this role, you will:

• Own the end-to-end product roadmap for accounting features tailored to the German market, defining priorities and working closely with engineers, designers, and domain experts
• Develop deep expertise in German accounting workflows, bookkeeping practices, and the DATEV ecosystem
• Define and execute product strategy by understanding SME and accountant needs, evaluating build-versus-partner decisions, and creating solutions specific to German requirements
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate delivery and identify opportunities where automation can transform accounting workflows from manual tasks into competitive advantages
• Challenge assumptions, prototype rapidly, and drive toward optimal product outcomes
• Work within an autonomous squad structure with direct ownership of roadmap and shipping decisions

What We're Looking For

• Deep domain expertise in German accounting technology, with experience working at or closely with German accounting-tech companies
• Proven track record taking products from zero to one or scaling existing products significantly, with demonstrated ability to think in outcomes rather than features
• AI-native approach to work, using tools like Claude, Dust, Notion AI, and similar platforms to enhance productivity and product capabilities
• Native German fluency required to navigate the highly localized accounting landscape; strong English required for cross-functional collaboration
• Strong product sense with ability to make difficult trade-offs and prioritization decisions
• Staff-level product management experience with demonstrated ownership and accountability for results
