Staff Product Manager [Accounting expertise] 🇩🇪

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization expanding its accounting solutions in the German market. As Staff Product Manager, you will own the end-to-end roadmap for accounting products tailored to the unique requirements of German SMEs and their tax advisors.

In this role, you will:

• Define product strategy and prioritization for the German accounting market, working directly with engineers, designers, and subject matter experts
• Build deep expertise in German accounting processes, compliance requirements, and the local ecosystem
• Determine build-versus-partner decisions that create genuine value for German SMEs, not simply localized versions of solutions from other markets
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate delivery and transform accounting from compliance burden into competitive advantage
• Challenge assumptions, prototype rapidly, and drive toward the best possible product outcomes
• Operate with full squad autonomy—your team owns its roadmap and delivers independently without layers of approval

What We're Looking For

Our client needs a product leader who combines deep German accounting domain expertise with proven ability to ship results:

• Deep German accounting expertise: You have worked at or closely with a German accounting technology company and understand the market's unique characteristics
• 0-to-1 and scaling experience: You have concrete examples of products you've built from scratch or scaled significantly, with focus on outcomes rather than features
• AI-native workflow: You use AI tools daily for research, analysis, spec writing, and user testing—you see AI as a product lever, not just a productivity hack
• Language requirements: Fluent German is essential for this deeply local market; very strong English required for cross-functional collaboration with European teams
• Staff-level seniority with ability to make difficult trade-offs and own outcomes
