Technical Writer / Quality Assurance Specialist – Full Remote Contractor

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential international organization seeking a Technical Writer / Quality Assurance Specialist for a full-time remote contractor position. This role combines technical documentation expertise with hands-on QA responsibilities, supporting complex web applications in an agile environment.

Candidates must be available to work 4-5 hours per day during New York business hours (EST).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technical leads, business analysts, and developers to document end-to-end traceability of business requirements, maintaining full feature history and impact assessment capabilities
• Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation including use-case documents, functional specifications, UI design/wireframes, integration guides, API developer guides, user guides, and tutorials
• Ensure all documentation follows established branding and accessibility guidelines
• Work within an agile team to ensure quality of complex MEAN stack applications
• Develop, modify, and execute functional test scripts and analyze bugs for systems in development
• Proactively identify potential operational issues, assess risks, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve them
• Conduct security testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing, and load testing
• Perform mobile application testing, browser compatibility testing, and accessibility testing

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree
• 2+ years of hands-on technical writing experience with proven ability to create requirement documents, use-case diagrams, functional specifications, and user guides/training materials
• Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and communicate them clearly in writing for audiences of varying technical abilities
• 2+ years of Quality Assurance experience with complex web application platforms
• Experience designing, developing, managing, and executing test cases, preferably using QA management tools
• Proven experience with test automation using Selenium, including script writing and API testing
• Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong skills in identifying, analyzing, documenting, and reporting test results
• Fluent in English
• Availability to work 4-5 hours daily during New York business hours
