Polyglot Engineer (JS/Python/Go)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology consultancy seeking a Polyglot Engineer (JS/Python/Go) in London. Our client works with leading organizations to build innovative digital products and scalable engineering solutions. This is a permanent position where you'll join client project teams, working on challenging technical problems in a collaborative, remote-first environment.

As a senior member of the engineering team, you'll design and build production systems using multiple languages and frameworks, mentor other engineers, and drive technical excellence across projects.

Responsibilities

• Build new product features and deliver continuous improvements in a full CI/CD environment
• Architect, design, and deliver highly available, zero-downtime systems with production SLA accountability
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams on engineering initiatives and problem-solving
• Mentor and grow other engineers, accelerating their career development
• Monitor and operate production systems, debugging issues under pressure
• Champion engineering best practices within your team and across the department
• Participate in technical showcases and knowledge-sharing sessions

What We're Looking For

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and/or Go, with ability to learn new languages quickly
• Experience with modern frameworks (FastAPI, Gin, Express, React)
• Production experience with modern build tools, state management, responsive design, and accessibility standards
• Comprehensive testing experience across unit, integration, E2E, and security testing
• Scalable system design including load balancing and high-availability architectures
• Database design and optimization for both relational and NoSQL systems
• API development experience (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and event-driven architectures
• Caching strategies and message queue systems (Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• CI/CD pipeline and Infrastructure as Code knowledge (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Monitoring, observability, and performance optimization expertise
• Sound judgment using AI tools to augment work and increase engineering impact
