Senior Product Manager Service Cockpit (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cleantech organization seeking a Senior Product Manager to evolve an internally tested prototype into a production-grade remote diagnostics platform. This role centers on building a tool that enables field technicians to remotely assess heat pump systems, troubleshoot faults faster, and perform safe configuration adjustments—reducing on-site visits and improving first-time fix rates.

You will connect data from multiple manufacturer ecosystems and build the product directly using AI as your development environment. You will specify, design, implement, deploy, and operate the platform. There is no dedicated engineering team for this role, nor will there be one. If you prefer writing tickets and handing off work, this position is not the right fit.

Responsibilities

• Build the service platform from discovery through production alongside field technicians, evolving a read-only prototype into a stable live application in short cycles
• Define a canonical data model covering proprietary heat pump platform data and systems from major manufacturers; implement this in collaboration with the data team
• Resolve missing sensor readings, unclear error codes, technical data gaps, and access limitations by coordinating with analytics, platform, IT, security, and manufacturer stakeholders
• Develop secure write-access workflows for selected settings, align roles and permissions, and automate recurring remote maintenance tasks
• Work on live cases with technicians, measure avoided dispatch trips and first-time fix rates, then expand the platform with customer reporting, predictive maintenance (in partnership with data science), additional asset classes, native apps, and integration into service workflows

What We're Looking For

• At least five years of experience in digital product management, product engineering, or data product roles
• Proven track record taking products from incomplete state to production, setting your own priorities, and measuring whether your solution delivers real-world improvement
• Hands-on experience building functional applications independently using AI coding tools; ability to demonstrate what you've built and explain technical decisions during interviews
• Strong data literacy: you can explore unfamiliar sensor, time-series, and API datasets, identify patterns, and articulate which values or access points are missing; SQL and BI tools are part of your everyday workflow
• Product judgment for designing professional interfaces for users working under time pressure; decisions driven by technician tasks, not by fields a system happens to expose
• Experience acquiring data or access from manufacturers, service providers, or internal platform teams, maintaining clarity even when facing resistance
• Very good English and at least B2-level German
• Heat pump domain expertise is not required—you will build that knowledge in the first months with dedicated onboarding time
