About This Role

We are representing a confidential construction organization seeking a qualified Occupational Health and Safety Specialist (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit) for their operations in Lower Saxony, based in Hanover-Laatzen. Our client views workplace safety not as an option, but as a cornerstone of their success. In this role, you will work directly with management, supervisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure every team member returns home safely each day.

This is a permanent position offering a company vehicle for private use, flexible working hours with options for part-time arrangements, and a comprehensive benefits package including pension contributions and additional insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor workplace safety through site inspections, safety training sessions, and internal audits, implementing all necessary preventive measures
• Provide strategic input on organizational decisions regarding technical equipment, personal protective equipment (PSA), machinery, and work processes
• Develop and maintain occupational safety management systems (ASM), create operational and procedural instructions for accident prevention and health protection, and analyze incident reports
• Coordinate safety representatives and occupational safety committees (ASA), supporting site managers in developing and refining risk assessments (Gefährdungsbeurteilungen)
• Advise leadership, deliver training to all staff levels, and collaborate with internal and external partners including management, works councils, administrative departments, professional associations (Berufsgenossenschaft), and occupational physicians

What We're Looking For

• Certified Occupational Health and Safety Specialist (Sifa) qualification according to DGUV standards, preferably through BG BAU
• Ideally, several years of industry experience in civil engineering or pipeline construction
• Thorough knowledge of relevant laws, standards, and regulations (ArbSchG, BetrSichV, DGUV, BaustellV)
• Strong communication skills, organizational ability, and assertiveness
• Class B driver's license and willingness to travel regionally
