Consultant Decision Intelligence (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential decision intelligence firm serving German-speaking markets. In this role, you will guide senior finance leaders through data transformation projects that reshape how their organizations make decisions.

Your work begins with facilitation: you lead kick-off workshops with CFOs and management teams, mapping their business model, system landscape across operational areas, and the critical questions they cannot currently answer. From there, you translate business challenges into prioritized analytics use cases—from P&L restructuring to pipeline forecasting to churn prediction—and sequence them into implementation waves based on impact and feasibility.

The most valuable part of your work is metric definition. You broker agreement between finance and operational teams on what "order intake" or "days sales outstanding" actually means in their context, then translate those definitions into specifications our engineering team can implement in the semantic layer. You validate outputs before handoff, ensuring the logic holds.

You manage multiple client mandates simultaneously, each with its own rhythm and stakeholder constellation. You maintain weekly touchpoints, lead wave reviews, and conduct quarterly business reviews with executive leadership. Success is measured by whether your dashboards change decisions—and when they do, engagements expand.

This is not ticket support, not cold outreach, not project coordination without subject matter depth. You make substantive analytical decisions, not just timeline calls.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in business informatics, information systems, industrial engineering, or business administration with digital focus
• For entry level: initial exposure through internship, working student role, or thesis work in controlling, business intelligence, data analytics, or consulting. Our talent team provides structured onboarding through live client work
• With 0–3 years experience: you have owned data or controlling projects independently and can lead a kick-off after brief orientation
• SQL proficiency or commitment to learn it in your first weeks. You won't build pipelines, but you must understand what happens inside them
• Working knowledge of income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and contribution margin accounting
• Ability to steer multiple projects in parallel without losing oversight or missing commitments—project orchestration is half this role, not a side task
• Communication range: you can explain a data model to a CFO and a business logic requirement to a data engineer with equal confidence
• German at negotiation level, English fluent

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during screening. Our client offers above-market fixed salary in year one with no equity wait, then introduces variable compensation in year two tied to the scope and development of mandates you own.
