Account Director

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential partner marketing agency seeking an Account Director to provide senior-level strategic leadership across client accounts. Our talent team is conducting this search on behalf of a fast-growing organization specializing in affiliate marketing, brand partnerships, and performance-driven user acquisition for recognizable brands in high-growth phases.

This role offers the opportunity to shape partnership strategies, mentor junior team members, and work directly with executive leadership. The position is based in Chicago with remote flexibility available.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver creative strategies to achieve client objectives while managing team deliverables and performance metrics
• Continuously analyze campaign performance (ROI, ROAS, conversion rates, partner performance) using data-driven insights to optimize strategies
• Identify growth opportunities through upselling, campaign optimization, and revenue-generating initiatives
• Lead operational excellence efforts, streamline processes, and ensure high-quality deliverables
• Communicate program performance and strategic direction effectively to clients and internal teams
• Build and nurture strong client relationships, understanding their goals, challenges, and opportunities
• Prepare and deliver compelling client presentations with strategic recommendations and growth analysis
• Lead and mentor team members, providing guidance in campaign execution and goal achievement
• Serve as the senior advisor and highest point of escalation for client matters
• Formulate and test new tactics beyond traditional affiliate approaches to improve performance
• Manage budget versus actual reporting and provide narratives for client portfolios to management
• Oversee performance bonus calculations for client invoicing
• Support operational and business development initiatives as needed

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 6 years of experience in affiliate marketing with top recognizable brands
• Proficiency in third-party affiliate tracking platforms (Impact, CJ, ShareASale, etc.)
• Strong project management skills with proven track record of successful execution
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for extensive email and call-based coordination
• Experience working with various publishers and high-value clients
• Strong attention to detail and KPI-driven mindset
• Advanced analytical skills with working proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
• Ability to navigate extensive data sets to extract insights and inform strategic decisions
• Proficiency creating impactful presentations using PowerPoint or similar tools
• Resourceful approach to independently researching solutions for client and team discussions
• Creative problem-solving abilities to address user acquisition challenges
• Operational and process-focused mindset to help build scalable systems
