Payments Solutions Architect (US or EMEA)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential quality assurance technology client in their search for a Payments Solutions Architect. This is a 100% remote role open to candidates in the Eastern United States or EMEA region.

In this role, you will lead the intersection of digital financial transactions and quality engineering. You'll define testing offerings for payments systems while diving deep into the technical architecture of complex transaction platforms. This position blends strategic business leadership with hands-on practitioner expertise—you'll shape service catalogs, methodologies, and pricing while solving technical quality engineering challenges across global payment implementations.

Responsibilities

• Drive vision and strategy for payments testing offerings, including producing white papers, articles, and conference presentations on the future of payment quality assurance
• Collaborate with sales teams on enterprise prospects, providing guidance on effective payments testing strategies, tactics, and ROI
• Launch and refine payments service offerings based on market intelligence and competitive analysis
• Design bespoke quality engineering methodologies for mobile payments, digital wallets, payment gateways, and point-of-sale systems by analyzing client transaction architectures
• Serve as subject-matter expert and escalation point for delivery teams on complex or strategic payments engagements
• Solve technical roadblocks in payments quality engineering, ensuring transaction integrity, security, and compliance across global regions
• Partner with external consultancies to develop joint go-to-market offerings
• Provide hands-on support from scoping through test execution review on high-complexity payment projects

What We're Looking For

Required Experience and Skills:

• 10+ years of deep experience with digital payment systems, including mobile payments, online banking, payment gateways, wallets, and point-of-sale systems
• Strong technical foundation in quality engineering, API integrations, and software development methodologies within the financial sector
• Proven ability to analyze payment architectures, troubleshoot integrations, and design evaluation criteria for complex transaction flows
• Management consulting or managed services background with client-facing technical discovery experience
• Experience designing service offerings and understanding cost-to-serve dynamics
• Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills for both technical teams and business executives
• Leadership ability to motivate distributed cross-functional teams
• Systems thinking approach with strong problem-solving capabilities

Preferred:

• Master's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
