Head of Operations (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential boutique sports and lifestyle organization in Berlin that is building a premium multi-site operation across Europe. This is a rare opportunity to join at a foundational stage and build the operational infrastructure that will support hundreds of locations.

As Head of Operations, you will translate strategic vision into a scalable operating model of systems, standards, and processes that work across every location and team. You will own Central Operations and Customer Operations, reporting directly to a founder and working closely with the leadership team to establish the operational backbone of rapid growth.

Responsibilities

• Operating Model: Develop and own the complete operating model that defines how each location runs—including standards, SOPs, governance, reporting, onboarding, and training frameworks that evolve based on operational learnings
• Technology & Systems: Own the operational tech stack from booking systems to workforce management, creating a unified system landscape that enables consistent player and staff experiences and scales without location-specific customizations
• Supply Chain: Build centralized procurement and logistics structures ensuring reliable supply to all locations, managing vendor relationships and contracts while leveraging economies of scale
• Facility & Property Operations: Establish scalable facility and property management with focus on preventive maintenance, asset management, and compliance with operational, safety, and quality standards across all sites
• Service Quality: Develop the quality assurance system, measuring standard compliance through audits, mystery shopping, and structured quality processes, identifying improvement opportunities and driving sustainable corrective actions
• Operational Excellence: Partner closely with on-site teams to analyze operational performance and translate insights into process, system, and standard improvements that feed back into the operating model
• Customer Operations: Build a scalable customer operations model intelligently combining AI, self-service, automation, and personal support to deliver excellent member experiences with high operational efficiency
• Cross-functional Leadership: Drive collaboration across product, brand, finance, and people functions to ensure strategic decisions are implemented in operationally scalable ways

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 8 years of operational leadership experience, with significant time in a fast-growing multi-site organization
• Experience working with frontline/blue-collar teams across multiple locations
• Clear focus on standardization—you think in scalable processes, standards, and systems rather than one-off solutions
• Proven track record building, implementing, and embedding multiple operational systems simultaneously across an organization
• Analytical mindset to derive operational decisions and system improvements from data
• Structured, pragmatic working style that thrives in high-speed, ambiguous, and changing environments
• Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to align diverse stakeholders cross-functionally and successfully drive organizational change
• German language proficiency required for this Berlin-based role
