As an ECG Technician/Lab Assistant with University Health Network, you'll support essential diagnostic and laboratory services in one of Toronto's premier healthcare institutions. This full-time position involves technical support in the Laboratory Medicine department, where your work directly contributes to patient care and clinical outcomes.

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform electrocardiogram (ECG) testing and recording under clinical guidance
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and ensure comfort and safety throughout
  • Assist laboratory staff with specimen collection, processing, and handling
  • Maintain and ensure proper functioning of ECG equipment and laboratory instruments
  • Record patient information accurately and manage clinical documentation
  • Maintain laboratory safety standards and follow infection control protocols
  • Support general laboratory operations and assist with quality assurance processes

Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as an ECG Technician or equivalent training (or willingness to obtain through employer-sponsored development)
  • Competency in phlebotomy or laboratory assistance techniques
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse patient populations
