Project Cost Consultant – Data Center Construction

Position Summary

As a Project Cost Consultant in our data center construction practice, you'll serve as the financial strategist for complex build-outs and infrastructure upgrades across the region. Your expertise will shape project viability, control cost performance, and help stakeholders make informed decisions in a fast-moving technical landscape. This full-time remote position offers the opportunity to work on projects that power the technology ecosystem across California.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for data center projects from conceptual phase through completion
• Monitor project spending, identify cost variances, and recommend corrective actions to keep projects aligned with budgeted targets
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to analyze cost implications of design changes and scope decisions
• Prepare regular cost reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate financial status to leadership and clients
• Apply expertise in data center-specific systems—cooling, electrical distribution, security infrastructure, and redundancy—to inform cost modeling
• Support procurement and value engineering efforts to optimize project economics without compromising performance or reliability

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of cost consulting or project controls experience, ideally in data center, technology, or specialized infrastructure sectors
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labor costs, and scheduling as they impact project budgets
• Proven ability to develop estimates, track actuals, and communicate cost performance clearly to diverse audiences
• Familiarity with data center systems, electrical design, or mission-critical facility engineering preferred
• Proficiency with cost modeling tools, spreadsheet analysis, and project management software
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
