Senior Staff Product Manager, Browser Control Platform

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential open-source technology organization seeking a Senior Staff Product Manager to own the browser control platform—the secure, reliable foundation that allows external software and internal teams to interact programmatically with their browser product.

In this role, you will:

• Own the shared platform layer and building blocks that enable other software to reliably and securely control browser functionality
• Drive forward the relevant open standard (WebDriver BiDi) while building proprietary capabilities where the standard cannot address specific needs
• Design safety and transparency controls that allow users to approve actions, monitor when software is acting on their behalf, and maintain control
• Define go-to-market strategy for integration with major third-party AI assistants
• Serve both internal product teams and external developer tools through a unified platform approach
• Set product strategy in a greenfield, fast-moving space with significant ambiguity

Success will be measured by platform adoption across teams and tools, usage volume, and sustained reliability and security metrics.

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone who bridges product strategy and technical execution. The ideal candidate brings:

• Background as either a product-minded engineer or a highly technical PM capable of driving technical platform products
• Developer-focused product experience with the range to think across consumer, enterprise, and internal platform use cases
• Comfort setting strategy amid ambiguity and owning technical contracts that other teams depend upon
• Strong instincts around security, trust, and user safety
• Nice to have: experience with web standards, browser automation, or similar control protocols

This is a hands-on, senior-level role where you'll balance strategic vision with tactical execution. You'll work across internal product teams, external AI tools, and web developer communities—each with different go-to-market approaches but shared underlying technology needs.
