Senior Rust Developer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential enterprise software client seeking a Senior Rust Developer based in Munich. In this role, you will:

• Build new products and features within a distributed platform architecture
• Develop new code primarily in Rust, while maintaining existing Go and Ruby codebases
• Create proofs of concept in emerging technical areas and drive them to production or make informed decisions to discontinue
• Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones

What We're Looking For

Required Technical Skills:

• 2+ years of strong experience writing, shipping, and maintaining production Rust code
• Experience with additional languages such as Ruby, Python, Go, JavaScript, or Java
• Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multiprocessing, and memory management
• Proven experience developing high-performance asynchronous applications with Rust (tokio framework preferred)
• Strong understanding of network protocols and network stacks
• Good understanding of database technologies, including both traditional relational databases and modern NoSQL solutions
• Basic knowledge of DevOps practices and tooling
• Comfort working in Linux environments

Preferred Experience:

• Golang or Ruby knowledge
• Experience working with WebAssembly (WASM)
• Open source contributions

• Result-oriented problem solver who takes initiative
• Proactive in identifying problems and proposing solutions rather than waiting for direction
• Openness to new technologies and ability to switch between projects
• Willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes
• Comfort working remotely with distributed teams across global time zones
