Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential engineering consultancy seeking an experienced building physicist to take on project coordination responsibilities with a focus on sustainability.

In this role, you will independently manage and coordinate building physics projects from initial client consultation through to implementation. You'll serve as the central interface between clients, architects, specialist planners, energy consultants, and funding agencies.

Your day-to-day work combines classical building physics topics with sustainability planning:

• Thermal protection and energy balance calculations
• Thermal bridge analysis and thermal/hygrothermal simulations
• Building and room acoustics consulting
• Sustainability planning and life cycle assessment coordination
• Managing complex stakeholder interfaces across multidisciplinary teams
• Client advisory on projects ranging from residential construction to complex non-residential buildings and heritage conservation

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Several years of proven experience as a building physicist and/or energy consultant
• Completed degree in civil engineering, building physics, or architecture
• Strong technical expertise in thermal building physics; acoustics knowledge is a plus
• Excellent German language skills, both written and verbal (essential due to high communication requirements)
• High competency managing cross-functional interfaces and coordinating between different disciplines

Ideal candidates also have:

• Interest in sustainable building practices and professional development in sustainability areas such as QNG certification
• Enthusiasm for client advisory work and active project management
• Desire to bring knowledge across building physics, energy, and sustainability together in integrated solutions
