Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential PropTech organization seeking a System Engineer to build and scale their internal IT function from the ground up. In this role, you will own the workplace and identity infrastructure, shape the SaaS landscape, and drive automation alongside modern security standards.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Building and evolving internal IT infrastructure with focus on workplace systems, identity management, security, and SaaS platforms
- Managing the complete employee lifecycle—from IT onboarding and offboarding to provisioning devices, accounts, access rights, and ongoing support
- Establishing and operating modern mobile device management including endpoint security, patch management, and asset lifecycle processes
- Developing identity and security platforms (SSO, SCIM, MFA, permissions management) and implementing modern security standards and IT policies
- Creating automations and integrations between internal systems to reduce manual processes, leveraging AI-assisted workflows to boost efficiency
- Owning the selection, consolidation, and evolution of the SaaS landscape including license, vendor, and lifecycle management
- Contributing to compliance and audit initiatives (such as ISO 27001 and GDPR) while ensuring a secure, scalable, and future-ready internal IT infrastructure
What We're Looking For
Required skills and experience:
- Several years of experience as System Engineer, IT Administrator, or comparable role with responsibility for internal IT systems
- Strong expertise in workplace management, identity and access management, and modern SaaS and cloud environments
- Hands-on experience with mobile device management (e.g., Jamf), endpoint security, and administration of Apple or modern workplace environments
- Proven experience building automations and integrations between IT systems, with interest in applying AI-assisted workflows effectively
- Solid understanding of modern IT security concepts including Zero Trust, MFA, Least Privilege, and security policies
- Ideally some exposure to ISO 27001 or GDPR compliance frameworks
- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style with enthusiasm for continuous process improvement
- Fluent German and English for collaboration in an international team environment
Nice to have:
- Experience with Google Workspace, Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or comparable identity platforms
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, scripting, or workflow automation
- Familiarity with iPaaS solutions or low-code/no-code platforms
- Experience building internal IT structures in a scale-up or fast-growing company
- Interest in eventually building and leading a small internal IT engineering team
