Senior Technical Program Manager (Cloud Capacity)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cloud infrastructure organization in their search for a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive capacity planning and expansion initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of data analysis, infrastructure engineering, and cross-functional program management, focusing on ensuring cloud resource availability across multiple data centers.

This is a highly analytical, hands-on position where you'll forecast demand, identify capacity constraints, and coordinate complex infrastructure expansions from initial analysis through customer availability. You'll work with engineering, procurement, data center operations, and product teams to maintain optimal capacity across compute and storage resources.

Responsibilities

• Analyze consumption patterns of cloud resources to identify trends, anomalies, and potential capacity constraints
• Build and maintain capacity forecasts for infrastructure resources and translate them into concrete requirements across multiple data centers
• Initiate capacity requests and collaborate with supply chain teams throughout purchasing and delivery processes
• Maintain end-to-end visibility of capacity expansions from forecast through procurement, installation, deployment, and customer availability
• Coordinate expansion plans with data center teams, including installation schedules and infrastructure readiness
• Work with engineering teams to plan deployment of new capacity
• Provide clear, reliable information to stakeholders about capacity plans, delivery timelines, status, dependencies, and risks

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Experience in technical project/program management, data analytics, capacity planning, infrastructure planning, or similar roles
• Strong analytical background with comfort making data-driven decisions
• Understanding of basic statistical concepts and forecasting methods, including their practical limitations
• Ability to communicate effectively with infrastructure engineers and understand technical constraints and dependencies
• Proven ability to coordinate work across multiple independent teams without direct authority
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate technical information for different audiences
• Ownership mindset: proactively identify problems, drive decisions, follow up on commitments, and ensure accountability across teams

Strong advantages:

• Background as a data or product analyst before transitioning to program management
• Ability to independently query data using SQL
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and BI tools such as Grafana, DataLens, or similar platforms
• Experience with capacity planning, demand forecasting, or infrastructure resource management
• Understanding of cloud or data center infrastructure architecture, including servers, racks, compute, storage, networking, and operational dependencies
• Experience working with procurement, hardware supply chains, or physical infrastructure deployments
