About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-established educational technology organization seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead strategy and execution for content authoring platforms, delivery systems, and CMS infrastructure. This is a fully remote, senior individual contributor role with significant ownership across the content lifecycle—from creation tools used by curriculum authors to the experiences delivered to teachers, students, and administrators in K–12 environments.

Our client is a mission-driven organization serving thousands of schools nationwide with research-based curriculum products in math, literacy, and science. They are entering a new phase of product maturity and seeking a strategic product leader who can bridge instructional needs with scalable platform capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve product vision for content authoring tools used by curriculum and assessment teams
  • Shape delivery strategy for how instructional content reaches teachers, students, and administrators across multiple subjects and grade levels
  • Guide product direction for CMS capabilities including content models, workflows, permissions, versioning, and publishing systems
  • Set product strategy and success metrics for authoring, delivery, and content management platforms
  • Translate complex instructional and operational requirements into well-scoped product initiatives and roadmap proposals
  • Partner closely with Product Design to ground decisions in user research and classroom evidence
  • Collaborate with Engineering on platform scalability, technical trade-offs, and long-term maintainability
  • Serve as subject matter expert on content platforms, identifying and reducing friction across the content lifecycle
  • Influence roadmap priorities through cross-functional partnership with leadership and stakeholder teams

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 7+ years of product management experience with senior-level ownership of complex platforms or systems
  • Proven experience building products that serve multiple user types (content authors, educators, students, administrators, internal teams)
  • Deep understanding of content authoring tools, CMS platforms, and structured content systems
  • Strong systems thinking—ability to reason about data models, workflows, and downstream impacts
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and lead through collaboration
  • Comfort working hands-on with detailed requirements while maintaining strategic perspective
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred:

  • Direct experience with K–12 curriculum and assessment products
