About the Role
As a Wireless RF Technician Trainee, you'll support the installation, maintenance, and optimization of wireless transmission systems that keep our network running. Working alongside senior technicians, you'll develop practical expertise in diagnosing and resolving RF challenges while maintaining the infrastructure that serves Alaska's wireless customers.
What You'll Do
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on wireless RF transmission equipment, antennas, and related cell site infrastructure
- Assist with optimization and tuning of GSM, CDMA, UMTS, and LTE radio access networks (RAN)
- Support commissioning and installation of new transport and cell site equipment
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on microwave network systems
- Document technical work, modifications, and network performance data
- Work under the direct supervision and guidance of senior RF technicians
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements for wireless infrastructure
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Genuine interest in learning RF fundamentals and wireless network technologies
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and at heights with proper safety training
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving aptitude
- Commitment to safety and attention to technical detail
- Ability to read and follow technical documentation and procedures
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
